Engine coolant at the back of the motor? 700 1990

I was driving, noticet the temp was up, stopped and engine coolant is running out the back of the motor lower by the firewall. It was too hot to work on right now and getting dark so I will try to look at it tomorrow but wanted any insight on what it could be, please don't say the head gasket.
