Howdy,

They already machined it to 0.012 and I want to know if I need to get another head to replace this one?

The spec on surfacing the head is a maximum cut of 0.010". The scratches are inconsequential at this point. You will need another head.

I highly recommend another machine shop too. If the machinist cannot be bothered to find the specifications for the piece at hand you don't want him working on your parts. Or, at least I don't want him working on my parts.
