Temp Gauge 700

My 1989 Green Book shows two wires coming from the sensor: Yellow/White and a Yellow/Black. It shows that both go to the gauge via the "B" 7-pin cluster connector. The Y/B appears to be the ground. Did things change for the 1990 model yr? Weird and/or inconsistent gauge behaviour is usually a sign of a bad connection.
