Cheap plastic radiator blows up and overheats engine.....is the head warped??

It's hard to say what damage was done, but plan on a head gasket replacement. The rest of the engine is fairly robust; even if the radiator was lost, coolant stays in the block up to the level of the head, so you may be OK. Check the head for warpage when it is out and act accordingly.
BTW, any radiator, not just the plastic ones, would have failed under such circumstances. The benefit of the AL-plastic units is reduced corrosion, lighter weight, and no solder seams to fail.
