Update - Think I've Found It!! 120-130 1968

U-joints... or the center bearing... or both.

After picking up a couple hundred lbs of red clay bricks on Wednesday and putting them in the trunk I quickly realized that the noise had intensified. So much so, I did not want to risk driving the car again until I had checked the u-joints.

I had U-joints on hand along with a new center bearing so I went ahead and installed them.

I just wrapped it up. I got the car back on its wheels and took it on a short test drive.

The noise is completely gone!

Both the front u-joint and the center bearing were suspect and I think these were the issue. Weirdly the at-least 20 year old rear u-joints looked perfect until I hammered them out of the driveshaft...
