Except for the chassis plate, which I understand does not mean anything, all of the other engine bay plates have been removed for some screwed up reason. Now I will never know if the original color was California white. The original paint does look very white compared to the cream white that has been poured every where.
Filling the rivit holes to keep water out, I removed the battery. Good news, no leaking there, someone smeared POR15 looking stuff on the bottom which was starting to flake. A wire brush and a nice thick coat of Rustoleum should take care of any additional rust.
I found a 740 plastic battery tray a few years ago. It looks like it will fit! As soon as the paint dries, I will put the plastic tray in. That ought to keep the battery from scratching the paint.
