Sunroof headliner replacement 700

I'm planning on replacing my headliner and am not clear what's the best way to get the sunroof panel out.

A number of year ago I had a local shop, now out of business, do the headliner on my sedan, but I removed the sunroof panel and brought it in to save money. At the time I ended up pulling it out through the roof. With the aid of the volvo manual, I had to pull the tracks out though the roof to get the panel to slide out of the tracks. I did not see anyway to wiggle the tabs out of the tracks.

Anyway, I will be removing the headliner and doing all myself on this wagon. Is the best way to slide it out of the tray, or out through the hatch. I will be replacing the seal, so I need to remove the sunroof top anyway.
