stalling at lights, stops, etc. 700 1985

I have an NA 1985 740.

The car starts great, with no need for extended cranking or anything like that.
It will run, but sometimes, when I approach a stop, it will shut down.
Usually, it cranks back up fine and off I go.

Today though, the car stalled at a light, I could get it started again but it would stall everytime I put it in Drive (like 10 times). Left it off for approximately, 1 minute, then it ran fine the rest of the way to work (1-2 miles).

So to recap: car starts great, runs fine, but stalls when stopping and when stopped.

Also, the stalling IS intermittent. Some trips go without incident, some with only one such incident. Today is the first time I have had such a problem. I would just take it over to our awesome Volvo guy here in Gainesville, Fl. but I want to wait until it more consistently doesn't run.

Any Ideas of where to start???
