Clutch Cable 140-160

I don't know that you can say how long a cable should last---the one in my 1969 144 (around 200k) is original as far as I know. I've always used Volvo cables for those cars that needed one. You may have to disconnect everything to feel where there may be binding/resistance. Early 140's had a problem with weak clutch forks and the cure was to replace it with the superceded part. Having to constantly take out free play was a tip-off to that problem. Take note of where your adjustment is--with 175k in Colorado the disc may be worn. Is the effort to push on the clutch pedal normal--worn clutch discs require more effort. -- Dave
