It has been a while, so let me bring you up to speed on C.A.s condition. In short it is much worse than last Spring, her 4th anniversery of initial diagnosis of inoperable brain cancer. I would spell it, but it is too hard and I skipped Latin in school.
Last summer I agreed to buy her 1967 220 which had been sitting for 3 years. She could no longer handle a car with a 4 speed/clutch/no power steering/no assisted brakes. Much less maintain it. I paid more than what it was worth, hoping she would go on a small vacation or eat lots of ice cream laced with sherry. No such luck for C.A.
The doctors took her off of steriods because the tumor was showing signs of growing again. C.A. had an option of trying another chemo treatment, but the prospects were dismal and the side effects worse, so she opted not to. She is going to die...
We talked at length a few weeks ago and she is tired, bored, and lonely. She can no longer read books. She has a 16 week old golden puppy (LULU) to keep the older dog (Fanny) company. Severe depression doesn't help at all, but she did manage to talk about death in a positive light and I even coaxed a few chuckles out of her.
I would like all of you to buy a nice card and mail it to her home address, ASAP of course. Make sure you include your Brickboard name and your real name on the card, in LARGE type so she can see it. She really does miss all of you, even those that disagreed with her :)
