240 wiring short - where to begin???

I would put everything back together and disconnect the turn signal switch and try jumping out the individual circuit. Test the switch for shorts with a ohm meter. And check the turn signal relay. I have had one go bad on me and was able to replace it with a $10.00 generic one from the local auto parts store.
