The factory supplied a hard linkage from the pedal to the carbs.
Horizontal inside the car from the left side to the right.
The linkage passes through the firewall on the right side.
You'd also be missing the vertical rod that actuates the horizontal rod that is under the hood.

Bottom line, if you have a cable, it is not a factory set-up.
But, is that what you are trying for?
