Don't forget to reset the computer after your repairs are made. Clearing the codes at the OBD box won't do this; you'll want to momentarily lift out the blade fuse under the hood to restore the ECU's defaults and drive it about 10 miles or so to get it to learn any new conditions.
PS - there's a product you can wrap the pipe with for more durability and a better seal. Look in the chain stores for "Muffler Bandage" or equivalent - a trick I've used. image here
