My experience is the yellow plastic manual release lever on a 91 is more valuable intact than broken. There are several legit reasons the shift lock solenoid fails to release, i.e. cracked or dirty fuse 7, or even soft drink spills, but without the release lever you may wind up stuck where you are until you fix it right.
