I've had it! 700

WHen I first got my 88 760 out of the junk yard, I thought, "What a great car!". It did not take long to find out why it had been junked at 143,000 miles with a perfect body and good rubber! That car now is the family workhorse and is reliable enough (with an engine replacement, new wiring harness, sunroof, headliner, ignition system, AC controls, etc.) to take on the occassional road trip. What I've learned from trying to keep my stable of Viking iron running is that these are cars built from out sourced parts that every other manufacturer used at the time. With the exception of the coach work and the red block, there is almost nothing else "Volvo" used in the Volvo car so our expectations should not be any higher for these than trying to keep a POS Buick running past ten years or so. (I have one of those too!)

What works for me is threatening my 760 with a glass of gas and a match every so often. I feel better and the car seems to respond!

Regards,
