Keyless entry 200 1990

Hi Nelson,

If you think going after the door switch problem is a pain, you'll find separating the trunk lock from the door locks to be a sort of prolonged agony. Of course, we are talking about your 1990 240, made in this respect like all 240's since 1986.

The central locking system operates all the actuators from a pair of "reversing" relays under the center vents. These relays control the polarity of the electrical power sent to the lock motors, and by doing that, control their direction to either lock or unlock.

If you were to separate the trunk lock, a new set of relays would be necessary. Some of the keyless entry kits will have optional external relays and wiring instructions to help with this, but I could not tell you which. Can you explain the situation you are trying to rectify?
