Fuel guage DYI?

You might do better by going to a local established hardware store. The person helping you at the big box store is perhaps a sports management major trying to make some beer money over the holidays.

The tubing on the rail piece is 8mm and the compression fitting you need is 5/16"... as luck would have it 8mm = 5/16".

Do not see in this set up an opportunity to install a fuel pressure gauge on the dash- this is for testing purposes only. Make sure you use fuel grade hose and you will feel more comfortable working out of doors with an extinguisher at the ready. I have never had a problem with this homemade gauge but we don't want to get a report on you via the evening news....

The end of the gauge setup that has the female fitting (at the end of the hose) connects to the fuel rail on the car while the other end connects to the supply line.
