Oh, no. I thought you were asking about repairing the switch. Removing and installing is something I have done a few times, and never through the cluster hole. Just remove the knee bolster and reach up. Feel the large connector socket and wiggle that toward the front of the car (away from you), off of the ignition switch. Then, with small screwdriver in hand, pointed toward you, find the two screws recessed in the ears holding the ignition switch to the lock assembly. Getting the screwdriver in the slot works better with your eyes closed, as the saying goes.
