Crack in the block... Is this supposed to be there? 120-130 1966

I think the OP was not refering to the slot, but to a barely visible line that is just above the red arrow. However, it looks to me like a "knit" line in the casting that was probably formed with the block was cast at the factory. In any case, I would not worry about it.
