So, my 1985 740 turbo with a B230FT (early) is reading 5˚ advanced. Even though I am not experiencing any drivability problems, I need to adjust it because the (expletive deleted) State of California feels that even though the emission levels are so far below their cut off level it isn't worth testing, I still can't pass smog until my timing is fixed.
So my question is this, how do you adjust the timing with the distributor jammed up against the firewall, or is the unit all electronic advance and non-adjustiable?
