It's normal for the temp to rise on the gauge after you park, or even after a fast run running back down at town speeds. It should stabilise though. Check the rad cap and the one on the bottle if you have one. Keeping the system pressurised should help with this problem. If no bottle, does it boil over? Needs a little bit of air space for expansion in the rad top tank to do the same sort of job as the bottle.
