UPDATE! 200 1989

Today was my day off so I decided to get a new battery. Called Wal-Mart first to see if the one in my city had the EverStart 47-3. They didn't, so I called another one that was a couple of cities away. They only carried the EverStart Max 47 (or something like that) for $77 w/ battery exchange. PepBoys had Bosch for $99 w/ exchange. I decided to check with Interstate, which has a store a couple of miles away. They carry the MT47 for $97 w/ exchange. Surprisingly it's a tad cheaper than PepBoys (and probably better brand to boot) and not much more than Everstart at Wal-Mart. I went for the Interstate battery, which came out to $107 after exchange and tax.

The positive clamp is beyond salvageable. Fortunately, removing it wasn't so bad. I was able to snip it off. Of course that took some gentle pulling and twisting while using a wire cutter to chomp at the cable. I was careful not to tug on the main battery cable.

Thanks for the replies!
