I had two of my cars, 1992 940GL and a 1992 745, develop SRS faults within a week of one another. I was able to cure the 940, the problem being a Code 5, Clock Spring in this case which I replaced and reset successfully. The 740, which is as much of a clone to the 940, especially in 1992, as it could be, has resisted all my efforts. I have swapped all the relevant components, airbag, module, module relay, clock spring, and checked visually all the connections but continue to get a Code 5 which persists and resists all attempts to make it go away. BTW, Code 5, calls for Module replacement, clock spring continuity, connections, high resistance, pretty general... I am reluctant to poke around too much with the power ON out of respect for the explosive power of the SRS...
