'75 Dizzy question 120-130

I've been using a '75 distributor in my '69 144S for years. Chances are the felt got discarded somewhere along the way. Put the one in from your original distributor and feed it a few drops of motor oil. Use a light application of oil on the spriral grooved advance shaft when you assemble it. Some Bosch distributors use a spiral groove on the lower section to discourage oil from being elevated into the distributor body. We once found this out when a client brought us a BMW 320 dumping oil out the distributor. They had done a motor change but used the original distributor--and guess what--the replacement motor was of a different year and turned the dizzy the opposite direction--the old unit's grooves were going the wrong way round. ps--the addition of the '75 distributor will make a dramatic difference in how fast your motor will fire up--enjoy--Dave
