I have had similar problems with my 89 740GL. I have 3 radio suppressor relays I swap when it leaves me sitting. In desperation I was going to replace the ECU, when I removed the old one, I found a loose wire at the grounding point that's to the right of, and slightly behind the ECU. It was the heaviest of the wires, and if I've followed the wiring diagram correctly, it goes to the injectors, among other things.
