'75 m40 vs. '66 120-130

Hi all. I recently purchased a '75 m40 to replace my shot '66 m40 in my '66 122. I was told by folks on Turbo Bricks and here (as I recall) that the '75 would swap over just fine. Well, the transmission flange splines are quite different. So they are definitely not swapping over.

I was hoping the U-joints would match up at least, but they are different as well. Is there a solution to this? I have the transmission flange and the flange that connects to the drive shaft via U-joint for both. Thanks ahead. Solution or not.
-dan.
