rough running engine 444-544

Not sure what the lift is, but from dealing with several flat lobes over the years, they'll only cause noticeable running issues when they are *really* flat. Something you won't need a measurement to spot - just pull the valve cover, unplug the coil, and crank it over for a little bit and watch each valve as it goes up and down, if there's a flat lobe it will really stand out.

And generally, until the lobe is all the way flat, it will still run perfectly well at idle, and low throttle, enoug air can sneak in past the barely opened valve to halde that amount of load, it's just at higher RPM and with the throttle open that the valve is a major bottleneck and it manifests itself as a miss.
