Wired as you instructed...thank you thank you thank you! The 38-year old bulb worked just fine, too. I actually prefer the way your hook-up works.

I didn't break anything, although I think the speedometer cable nut that attaches to the cluster is stripped, the cable holds well enough by itself and i put a little tape around it... Should I be worried?
