Fix one thing break another... 700 1990

Usually the seal does not leak unless the bushing is worn enough to stress and wear the seal. You can check for lateral play and see what you think.

I use the replacement bushing and seal from FCP with no issues.

Read up on the procedure in the FAQ's. I find the hardest part is removing the gasket that goes between the transmission and the rear housing that contains the bushing and seal. In my experience the gasket (or most of it) remains on the transmission and is very difficult to remove.

On the last two I have done I have simply made sure none of the gasket is missing and then simply reused the old one. I have not had leaks after doing this. Good luck.
