I dunno if buy gravel hitting the condenser being the problem. There are lots of theories ranging from heat soak, poor oil circulation, and even clogged HVAC filters. Mom-in-law's 2004 CR-V had no damage to the condenser and the system had absolutely no leak. Only obvious damage was that the compressor imploded. Piles of metal shavings came out of everything.

I may have the condenser floating around somewhere. Maybe I'll take a peak if I can find it?
