I guess i should have stated in the original post that i pulled a fan from a 900 and took all the relays with it, so i do have a high and low relay.
I installed the fan yesterday with the low side attached to the battery ( with the fan always on ) and the high attached to the sensor in the radiator sensor which kicks the front a/c fan on when it over heats. it was 77 outside when i did the drive test. while the car did not overheat nor did the temp needle move any further then straight up center, i was uncomfortable not being able to get it to kick into high gear at any point.
My ultimate goal was to hook the low side wire ( which is hooked into a relay ) so that when the ignition is turned to on it would kick the fan on low. Im just not sure which wires in the engine bay are a negitive on with ignition. i put the original fan back in for the time being and am still debating if i am going to go for the full switch to electric or not. point being i did not notice any real power gain with the electric fan, the only thing i noticed was a lack of noise.
for spec purposes i am running a L block complete engine with the 100amp alternator.
Thanks for your reply!
