I need to replace my windshield rubber. It's beginning to leak noticeably in heavy rain. I've done windshield rubber before and I have a method that works well enough that I'm confident on that part but I'm unsure of the chrome pieces. Do I assemble the rubber on the glass and get the chrome in its lip and THEN put the whole assembly onto the opening or do I put the chrome in the rubber THEN the glass into the rubber THEN the assembly into the car? Or do I install the glass and rubber into the car and THEN put in the chrome? Somehow, that seems a lot less likely as the lip is so hidden by the chrome. I know the chrome is delicate and will damage easily. Anybody done this successfully?
