Hello, My name is Ryan and I am 19, My volvo 240 wagon runs great! The only problem is keeping it running. The battery seems to drain no matter what I do. I drive the car, it starts fine, runs good, but power seems to be sapping constantly until the car doesn't have enough power for ignition and shuts off. I checked the car with an amp meter and it doesn't appear to be pulling power when it is off. I have already replaced the alternator and the battery. Another symptom I have is that the tempature gauge tells me that the car is running cold constantly, maybe 20% of the way up the gauge. Could this be the voltage regulator? Also where are other likley places for shorts? I found a short under the shifter boot in the wires that go to the reverse light. My car needs to be inspected this month and if I can't get this fixed soon I may have to sell my beloved volvo. My parents are fearing the car is becoming a money pit even though I do all the work myself. With only 245k I know this car has a lot more life left in it. Thank-you for your help everyone.
