I guess this is a follow-up to my post regarding the best Oil Filter Wrench. Thanks to everyone for all the good input.
Ken C's recommendation to remove the heat stove sheet metal and the pre-heat hose in order to provide more room to work sounds like a good idea. But, ever since I saw an early 240 on which a used car dealer had removed the throttle bypass plumbing and cranked up the throttle stop screw because he couldn't get it to idle correctly, I hesitate to modify any system which the manufacturer deems necessary.
With that in mind, what are the pitfalls of chucking the pre-heat intake air components especially on a car which lives in the northeast USA?
Thanks, one and all,
Rich
