Derek's idea works 120-130

I tested Derek's idea on my parts car. 1/8" hole, 3/4" up from the lower lip of the lid, centered under the lock and it works perfectly, irrespective of whether the trunk is locked or not. I used a short length of straightened coat hangar (which has now become part of my in-car emergency tool kit) to push the latch open. If I ever need that trunk, I would fill the hole with a small dab of dumdum caulk, which would be hidden by the license plate. With a clever bit of bending, the coat hangar technique might even work with the license plate in place, once the hole had been pre-drilled.

Cheers,
