I too had good luck polishing the lens but find the reflector is prone to pits and a nice clear lens only makes the blemishes more noticeable. But no matter how well you polish it seems even the cheap new ones always look crisper

The price of the aftermerket complete is about the same as the 240 OEM lens only . They are not as robust as OEM but I have no issues w/ this vendor after two years. Once I bought lens which shipped nested together which cracked one, they shipped a new one the same day, no questions asked.
