The belt needs to be replaced at 70K and 140K. The belt is rubber and will deteriorate from age, heat, etc.... even with few miles on it.

At 140K is it very wise to replace the t-belt tensioner and 2 pulleys as well as the belt based on the collective experience of this forum.

If you have the time and a little skill you can do it yourself and save money. The FAQs have a detailed procedure as do I that I can send you.
