Although the cranking speed did not seem overly slow yesterday, I placed the battery on a slow 2 amp charge overnight. Today I tried starting it, and the motor caught after about three revolutions. It was a bit rough for the first 5 to 10 seconds, kind of like it was clearing its throat, then idled and ran smoothly. This gave me the opportunity to move it to the shop. I shut it off and it restarted just fine.
I can't believe the issue was simply a low battery, so I need to find out what the real issue was/is, so that the car can be counted on to start. Anyone have any help on this problem?
Keep in mind that this is a cold start issue. Also, the secondary pump can be heard momentarily cycling under the car when the key is first turned, as it should.
TIA
