Take an afternoon to clean up all the electrical connections. I prefer soldering the connections instead of using crimp connectors.
But DISCONNECT the battery before you get in there with a wire brush.
It is a little too easy to short across the teminals.
I would also suggest checking the connections at the relays under the hood.
I have seen more than one spade connector that has sucumbed to corrosion over the past 40 years. Resolder them, you won't be sorry.
Use some anti-corrosive paste or dielectric grease on the connections after you clean everything up.
