timing on a 122 120-130 1967

If the engine will idle, set the timing to something between 15 and 18 BTDC. That'll be close enough that you can fine tune it after getting the carbs closer to sorted.

Another way, if the engine won't idle: rev the engine just enough that the timing stops advancing, and set it to 32 degrees. Again, this might not be your final setting, but it'll rule out ignition timing as a possible cause for an engine that won't idle.

Timing 'should' be set once the engine is fully warm, but adjusting it before then is okay as a preliminary setting. Maybe not perfect, certainly close enough - especially on a relatively stock engine.

And then you can go all crazy with them carbonaters.

Best,
