Spark Plug Gap (quick) question 200 1989

The last few times I replaced plugs in my 1988 240 the factory set gap, as marked on the little boxes, was .028 inches. Strangely enough, that's the gap recommended in the owner's manual. Oh, the plugs are Bosch W7RDC, copper electrodes, also recommended.

Good Luck,

Bob

PS. Many years ago a mechanic told me that as the plugs wear the gap will get a little wider. Perhaps not as important in these days of 40,000 volt coils.
