Rough vibrations at low engine speed - B18 140-160 1971

Considering the condition of the plugs I'd look again at the carbs---maybe jet(s) sticking in the enrichment mode? An aluminum valve cover will muffle valve train noise. A bad engine bearing will not result in a whirring noise---a knock is what you would hear--maybe you're hearing a generator (or alternator?) bearing. -- Dave
