Well, to be honest, I have owned a few of these clocks over the years. They have all come in trade for rare Volvo items being sent to Sweden. All the early amazon clocks I have owned have gone back to Europe. I doubt there are more than two or three of these in North America. At least one of the European Volvo owners who has bought a clock from me is on this board and may or may not want to ID himself...:)
While the clock that Luke has in his car is an Amazon one, the clock would have been mounted in the center of the car (where the ash tray is on the later cars). The dash in the early Amazons (I want to say the first 7,000 cars but I don't have my early parts manual in front of me) was different in not only the clock but the heater controls were much like the 444 in that they were sliders on the dash, between the steering wheel and drivers door. I can't seem to get the direct link, but chassis #9570 on the chassis reg. shows the temp. controls and it looks like they have gone to the ashtray in the dash by this point.
