Using a Bosch 139 Module to run stock point ignition 140-160

I think I saw your work over on Turbobricks? Something on how to solder correctly? Great work!

I can solder (poorly in comparison) something together. We have snow today about 4" (10cm) on top of 6" (15cm) with 5*F (-15*C), so it will have to wait until it warms up a bit. I see you guys are in the 70's (in the 20*C). I do want to try the additional circuit to see if anything changes.

Yes, the timing was way off when I first put it in to see if the points could be easily put back to stock operation if the module failed. I figured it was something to do with when the stock setup got the signal to fire the coil and when the 139 module got the signal.

I really don't understand about the need for the pull-up resistor? There is about 9V flowing through the points without the circuit, and it works great! If it only adds the inverted feature, and there is current flowing through the points, is there any real need to add the circuit?
