Trouble is, what actually does some good is quite subtle and elusive, and what looks like it should do some good, intuitively, can easily ruin a head. I've had close looks at heads from four different experienced porters, and they all have their own ideas.

In short, you really need to play with the things on a flow bench and see what's what...
