The Optima battery is a fine advancement. That being said, if you let it sit for 3 months, it suffers the same problems of any other lead acid battery... it fails. The Optima battery is based upon the same freaking lead acid battery technology that was in my 65 T-Bird when it was new, the only advantage it provides is higher CCA in the same space. Same technology, same problems.

ps. I have Optimas in two out of three cars, after they sit for a while, they fail just like the Walmart special!
