hi sages- love this forum. has been very helpful to this newbie to volvo 240s. have vast experience with slant 6s but starting all over with 240s, very different. feel like im in kindergarten. #1 have 5speed manual m47 trans in 92 240. runs fine now. like to anticipate though. should it wear out or blow, what would a used junkyard trans be likely to cost? are they readily available. experience with 3 and 4 speed trans in slant 6 was about 100-150 for junkyard trans. has anybody bought one lately? dont want toget clipped by a shyster wanting to make a home run. #2 when i floor the clutch there is a squeaking noise. figure its the cable in the sheath or a pivot where the cable goes into the pedal top. what do you think and recommend. can you get lube in the cable? thanks tons oldduke
