assuming it's a kjet car, most in 82 were, cycle the key a few times, don't crank it, just on-off, on-off, etc. to make the fuel pump prime a few times. if it starts after doing this the fuel accumulator and/or fuel pump check valve are shot. these hold rest pressure to make hot starts easier. good luck, chuck.
