found a plug in the chamber but.... not leaking there. Upon further inspection I noticed some very light indentations on the carb body in the area of the throttle return spring. The gasket was good but unable to seal due to these small indentations. he original gasket was .019 thick, I made a new one out of .031 gasket material and reset the float level to accomidate the thicker gasket and now, HURAY!, NO MORE LEAK!!!! WILBUR
