V6 Question 700

I have an 88 Bertone with a V6. I have other Volvo's,but they are 4cyl. turbo's.

Got it out of the shop and noticed that there is a hose attached to the "oil cap" and this hose goes almos all the way to the brake booster. The end closest to the booster is not plugged into anything. Should it be?

If anyone could help me I would really appreciate it. I can send a picture of what I am talking about if that would help. I don't know how to attach them here.
